The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 影片超过一半的时间就是男主一个人守着大金块，给自己打造一个舒适点的小窝，干掉有危险的流浪妹妹，驱赶想吃自己的豺狼，可惜最后还是被豺狼们吃了，然后归来的男配被另一个流浪姐姐干掉。影片很好的诠释了一个词“人为财死”！我给3星5.8分，删掉了！
我们都会遇到生活的困境，或者有时候选择就是一个无知的未来！
再硬核的战术打戏和军事细节也挡不过铺天盖地的逻辑硬伤和过于老套的故事架构，剧本烂是原罪
发现黄金的那一刻就能猜到导演大概想怎么展现人性了
剧情太慢, 有点拉胯, 故事讲不好, 又没有特效支撑.
片子拍的太散了，甚至反派的组织没必要隐瞒男主任务详情啊，直接说不就行了，想去就去，不想去碍于良心不去就是了，非得整一个事后杀人的套路，问题是这个任务也没凸显出非男主不可的样子，整个故事存在的合理性就几乎没有，另外男二一直也挺迷，一会站这边，一会站那边，似乎所有人立场都不坚定。
人为财死，鸟为食亡。茫茫大漠，从天而降的巨大金矿，你该怎么办？一个能精彩的点，但是没有完成一个精彩的故事。
剧情套路，当作爽片的话好像也不是很爽，走深刻最后又草草收尾.
电影中规中矩 枪战和搏斗部分有些拉 处理的不好 另外特种兵生存技能 自救和施救 近距离战斗片段和搜房男主都下了功课 值得表扬 战友中枪中的莫名其妙 这就是退役特种兵吗。。 ps：科学家是“海豹六队成员”“安全屋老头是极寒城的特工/间谍” 电影里面讲的是为了消灭“恐怖分子”而行动 真相是“恐怖分子”发明疫苗的科学家是为了阻止星条旗释放病毒而被杀 回到现实头皮发麻 地球之癌 美国!
半小时的量给整了一个半小时，倍数看完的，期待的高潮也没有来就结束了。

本片的剧情真应了那句老话，典型要钱不要命的节奏，男主发现了一大块金子，却傻傻让同行那个居心叵测的黑心老板去找挖掘机来挖金子平分财富，这人不是缺心眼就是财迷了心窍，果然在经历了恶劣的自然环境和本地人的折磨后，还杀人灭口却最终死于非命，当然导演为了公平正义，让那个黑心老板也被土著干掉。人性的贪婪与险恶在本片中肉眼可见，抱着财富死去能有什么意义，有命挣没命花的选择还不简单吗?整个片子的化妆与场景布置不错，很好营造出了一个沧桑荒凉的末世废土环境，让男主的死更是披上了一层无奈可悲的色彩。男主出演很是拼啊，不但从头到尾装容脏兮兮，后半段受伤后的惨不忍睹更是可以媲美小李子的荒野猎人，不过本片的剧情相对简单，人性的剖析也是显而易见，90分钟这个片长还比较合理。

不怎么样 这个演美国大兵确实蛮像 但好像也就是这样而已
承包商的行为和现实如出一辙，开发疫苗然后投放病毒以拯救者的姿态把钱和名都挣了，影片有谍影重重的影子大家都是孤军奋战
前半段虽然节奏缓慢，整体开局很不错，陆战队员也会有人到中年的困境及对家庭的责任。
