The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 绝望的午夜这场戏朱迪·科默演得真好，只是结局的出逃有点突然... 三星半
影片拍攝的角度很小但很真實，電影的描寫和沉浸感充滿了感染力。
中段长达20分钟的长镜头太过出色，描绘的却仅仅是疫情之下再简单、真实不过的场景，然而在我看来其压抑、惊悚的程度更甚于现如今一众恐怖片：凌晨三点半几乎只身一人的看护院之中，闪烁的走廊灯、肯尼急促的呼吸、不断转接中的电话，这一切构成了这全片最为绝望的一幕（有几个瞬间给我以很强烈的mgs v中亲手杀死母基地被感染士兵剧情的即视感）。同样朱迪-科默在这段惊艳的演技更是这一段最后也是最完美的一块拼图。可惜的是，第三幕带着托尼出逃看护院的情节实在脱节感过强，也抛弃了之前犹如无声呼救一般不断浮现help字样的空镜，而最后萨拉在警车中通过戏内的台词对着镜头外的英国政府进行批判、呵斥的一番发言，则显得编剧表达诉求与立场的欲望太过直接而直白。
