The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 霸凌者都该死，这个反转算什么反转，建宇的妈得知真相后复仇手刃这几个小杂碎才是反转，又或者是建宇的鬼魂归来送这几个畜生下地狱才是完美结局。看完真是气死
一般，结局是真品其实藏在假的里面送给了日本人，这还不是等同于把真的送掉了吗…… 中间的转折也挺迷的，付贵想保护主角，就和沈爷联手设套敲断了主角的手，美其名曰想让他远离这些事？（所以废了手这个情节的意义在哪里） 主角的老爸想保护佛头，所以在郑家村设了个陷阱，这可以理解，但看上去郑家村这个卖假货的村子和主角一家子也不熟，怎么就会同意在自家地盘搞这么多谜团？ （而且引向这个陷阱的大部分线索都是主角才能明白的那种，所以他爸是故意把他往火坑里推？想发现真的非得先发现假的？ 这个五脉到底怎么回事，李现闹了这么大一出，最后就是为了逼会长退位……只想说何苦？
但是这个be我真的不能接受
被害者很容易就成为加害者，比起孩子，始终是大人更坏
槽点太多了，果然盗墓题材的没一个能拍好的。
很爽快的爆米花电影，探案过程有趣，解谜的线索有点过于玄乎。葛大爷一开口，贺岁片的感觉就回来了。
坏人太坏，不够立体。这么看起来，纯粹的坏人竟然还没有底层互害的人可恨。
最后影片呈现为一种大义凛然的主旋律叙事，一家人接连用名誉和生命保护了国宝的安全。
抛开性别，就是青春期到成熟时期喜欢的情感与社会桎梏之间的拉扯。学校的风纪到社会的眼光。是细腻的表达，连配角的反映也很接地气。
就这？一顿操作猛如虎，一看输出2.5。进村之前还能有3星，进村之后的扯淡大乱斗变2星。顺便问，李现这个水平咋被梅峰和娄烨看上的？
究竟是两个人的回忆
「点映场」合格的爆米花电影 有《国家宝藏》的味道了 推理分析和探险的情节还不错 反派的逻辑动机差了点 角色塑造也不太行 看样子应该是有续集的 有点期待！！（葛大爷算个小惊喜 一出场满场笑）
最恨的是本身作为朋友反水加入欺负人的阵营，更可恶。
国产版国家宝藏＋达芬奇密码，香港导演却搞出一股冲鼻子的五代味儿．很多可以好好蒙太奇一下的画面草草的就放过了有点可惜．逻辑交代不够清晰，软伤硬伤都有．雷佳音真是太适合这种被熊的怂怂的角色了，药不然太端着
整体流畅 明星阵容 但是细节不是处理那么好 值得观影 值得反思 值得当父母的真正的去关心爱护孩子 而不是偏袒 不是溺爱！
校园霸凌的确让人痛恨至极 家长 老师对孩子的教育很重要 片子最后有反转
作为还只能算普通影迷的人…又一次看到豆瓣短评惊愕地想要骂人，中国电影真的难处其实是观众太难伺候了…我被拉着讲原著看过剧对于剧情还算了解。拍成电影实难，要删减的太多。把佛头提成第一部主线是最正确的选择。说题材是上世纪的片子…我？？震撼马伯庸全家。有笑有泪、服化道合理、特效用的恰当，能看出来剧组很多实景拍摄努力不偷懒，所谓很多制片人要求的追逐打戏大场景调度 也不缺。说演员差的 是瞎了么。几个版本黄烟烟，辛芷蕾的有胆有识不好么？雷佳音演技不好么？说李现油头粉面娘娘腔的…虽然是有点装b但药不然就是这样啊…真的不知道因为“所以爷爷还是给了真佛头”而打两星的这帮人…是真要求高还是真事儿…两个小时，至少我的注意力没有掉线，比起欧美确实有点俗和审美老套。但作为商业片完成度很高。可以不喜欢，但是至少尊重努力。
最后揭秘真佛头藏在假的里面搞得很炫的样子，可是这不也算把真头送出去了吗…………还有村里面开玩笑送女人说“好生养”那段我吓得起鸡皮疙瘩😅
不理解为什么有些人夸葛优，葛优在电影中的表现，与他在各种见面会、采访上的表现一样，拒绝走心，只肯走位。当然，剧本也配不上他。
