The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 前半部分看着两个人失业，意外花销不断，似乎没有希望而未来越来越难，简直像恐怖片，惊心。后面光明充满美好的反转是因为是电影吧，现实会灰暗无望的生存
很搞笑，将一个严峻的社会问题拍成了电影，所以从现在开始就攒钱养老吧！
婆婆假扮笃子朋友爸爸那儿笑抽了，三姑演那个到家里调查的政府职员，也太搞了哈哈哈哈哈 一个窘迫的实际问题被拍成了啼笑皆非喜剧 再合适不过了。
一个非常现实残忍的故事，讲好了不容易，所以导演非常意料之中的没有讲好，不过也不能责怪导演，因为养老的问题现实具体到无法解决，除了做做梦麻痹一下自己，还能怎么样呢？天海佑希演的很好，无奈的家庭主妇感，入木三分。
很可爱的小片，尤其是老太太与天海佑希讨论想进入宝冢当男角的那一段。
挺现实的，关于金钱，关于亲子关系，合租养老也适合日本人，毕竟骨子里是不想给别人带来麻烦的人

松重丰演的好像个傻瓜哈哈，别说天海佑希，我都想打他了蠢货。不过剧情充满可爱和温暖，人应该任性一点，感觉就是鼓励看电影的人卖房养老，是不是有什么阴谋哈哈。

先抑后扬是不错，但是合租真的不是解决问题的正确方案，你不能只看到它美好的一面
这个如此作孽的童话故事看得我十分忧伤，女王和五郎叔都救不了。

用比较轻松的方式讲现实的社会问题，人到中年，上有老下有小的压力，还要为自己的养老早做打算，除了解决问题的方法比较理想化，剧情都很流畅，苦中带甜，演员们表现也都不错，整体观感很好。
哈哈挺欢乐的。有钱没钱都要好好生活有时候真的要任性一下。
老了首先要有乐观的心态，愿意融入，住share house也是很好的选择。最重要的，果然还是要有钱。剧中的没钱烦恼都不是真正的危及到衣食，所以乐着看看就好。以及日本老人被诈骗招数真的防不胜防。生前葬对爱热闹的人挺适合的。最后，天海佑希看五郎叔的眼神好有爱。哈哈。第一次在日本遇到满场盛况@20211103文化日

整个看下来故事流畅不错，不过想表达的东西可以说是完全没有传达出来。。。养老是个严肃的事，发生在她家的事没有以小见大到cover住这个大主题。
